The Bruins return to the scene of the crime that helped them wake up and rip off seven straight wins when they face the Senators in Ottawa on Thursday night. The last time the B’s were there on October 27, they were non-competitive, losing 7-2 in a game that wasn’t even that close.
The Ottawa Senators will play the Boston Bruins for the third week in a row. This time, Shane Pinto will be playing with a contract extension, freshly inked. The two-way centre signed the long-awaited deal just a day after his 25th birthday.
Boston's impressive win streak ignites debate. Can Pastrnak and Geekie lead this resurgent team past last year's playoff disappointment?
While the 6-foot-7 defenseman doesn’t need to look elsewhere for motivation to be physical, he revealed to the TNT crew before Tuesday’s game that he watched highlights from Boston’s 2011 Stanley Cup Final.
Pastrnak hitting the 400 mark was the highlight of the second. Bobby McMann also scored with 1:02 remaining in the period to make it 4-2. Oliver Ekman-Larsson pulled Toronto within one, 4-3, at 3:32 of the third, but Pastrnak’s second of the night, this time on the power play, made it 5-3 at 9:48.
