France's former president Nicolas Sarkozy left La Santé Prison in Paris on Monday after serving nearly three weeks of a five-year prison sentence, escorted by a police convoy to his home in the capital's upscale 16th arrondissement.

France’s former president Nicolas Sarkozy left a Paris prison on Monday after an appeals court granted him release under judicial supervision.

Sarkozy was convicted of criminal conspiracy for laundering millions from Colonel Gaddafi and using the cash to fund his winning 2007 campaign.
