Members of the Maynard Fire and Police Department rescued a dog from a frozen pond late Tuesday night. First responders received a call around 9 p.m. from a pet owner that their dog Rufus had fallen into a hole in the ice at Mill Pond.
After a harrowing fall through the ice Tuesday night at Mill Pond in Maynard, a dog named "Rufus" was able to return home and warm up, thanks to the Maynard Fire Department. In a press release, Maynard fire officials said a resident called police at 9:04 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10, to report that their dog had fallen into a hole in the ice on Mill Pond.
