Along with when Illinois residents may be receiving reduced SNAP benefits, officials said not everyone who is eligible will be receiving benefits.

As of Friday, some people in Chicago began receiving federally funded food assistance. It came as the Trump administration asked the U.S. Supreme Court to halt an order requiring full SNAP payments for November.

Partial benefits for those who were supposed to receive them Nov. 1 through 6 will be sent out starting Friday, the Illinois Department of Human Services told the Sun-Times in a statement.
