Trump says Walz wants to ‘work together’ as Minneapolis tensions flare after ICU nurse shooting
President Trump and Governor Walz held a "very good call" Monday about working together following the fatal shooting of ICU nurse Alex Pretti by federal immigration officers Saturday.
MINNEAPOLIS – President Donald Trump on Monday said he had a "very good call" with Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, and the two "seemed to be on a similar wavelength" amid the fallout from the fatal shooting of 37-year-old Alex Pretti by a Border Patrol agent.
Both parties described the call as productive. The governor’s office said Walz asked for “impartial investigations” into the fatal shootings of Renee Good and Alex Pretti.
Trump did not mention how long his immigration crackdown in Minnesota might last.
President Trump, facing growing criticism of the tactics of immigration agents in Minnesota, shifted from attacking the state’s governor to stressing cooperation.
