ELMONT –– The Boston Bruins closed their four-game road trip with a 3-1 win over the New York Islanders on Wednesday at UBS Arena, fueled by a two-goal performance from Alex Steeves.
The Islanders have scored just two goals on their current seven-game homestand and fell to 1-2-0 in their last three games after losing to Boston.
Wednesday’s matchup against the New York Islanders is the fourth and final game of the Bruins’ road trip before returning to Boston for back-to-back games at TD Garden. The pace of the NHL schedule has been the biggest change for Steeves, he said.

Ilya Sorokin turned aside 11 of 14 shots, while Jeremy Swayman made 44 saves in the win.
