Cooler temperatures and humidity are helping firefighters fight the fire, which nearly doubled in size since Monday afternoon.

Evacuation orders and warnings remained in place on Tuesday for the Wolf Fire in Riverside. The 2,414-acre fire south of Banning, is now 35% contained after crews made significant improvement.

Riverside County firefighters continue to battle a quickly growing brush fire burning in the hills near Banning. It was first reported at around 3 p.m. on Sunday in the area of the Wolfskill Truck Trail, located near Old Banning Idyllwild Road, according to Riverside County Fire Department crews.
