Officials said Monday they are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death of a 40-year-old woman found unresponsive Saturday while in the custody of Brookline police.

An officer found the woman “breathing but unresponsive” around 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Brookline police station.
