The Spartans come into this road tilt in the midst of a seven-game losing streak and in search of their first Big Ten win of the season. Michigan State last won in mid-September, and is currently 3-7 overall and 0-7 in Big Ten play.

ANN ARBOR – Michigan’s hockey used a big third period to down Ohio State on Friday at Yost Ice Arena. The second-ranked Wolverines erased a pair of one-goal deficits in the first two periods and then scored twice in the final 10 minutes of the third for a 5-2 victory.

Michigan has been on the periphery of CFP talk all year. That would change with a win at Maryland and another upset of Ohio State.

USC-Oregon is a pivotal matchup Saturday in Eugene, while Michigan's narrow win over Northwestern last week kept the Wolverines in the playoff conversation. USC's rain-soaked win over Iowa was effectively a playoff elimination game for the Trojans, and similar stakes accompany their Week 13 clash with the Ducks.

On Friday, Michigan State dominated Detroit Mercy, earning a 28-point victory. At the tail end of the convincing win, the Spartans were able to get their walk-ons in the game.
