HBO's The Last of Us takes a major hit as co-creator and writer Neil Druckmann leaves to focus on Naughty Dog and video games.

Neil Druckmann, who co-created and directed the Naughty Dog video games for Sony Playstation and has been quite hands on throughout the first two seasons of the TV adaptation, will take a step back from the series creatively for Season 3, sources confirm to Deadline.

Neil Druckmann, co-creator of HBO’s “The Last of Us,” has announced he will step back from the hit series before Season 3. He plans to focus on leading Naughty Dog and developing a new science fiction game.
