Verena (from Germany) has been living in the UK for 8 years. When she applied for Settled Status the automated checks could not see her as present in the UK. Our lawyer says that this is not uncommon. During the online application process you can upload additional evidence to show that you have been in the UK for 5 years. Did you not know your child was eligible to the EU Settlement Scheme? Many EU citizens assume their children are British just because they were born in the UK.
