Update! Mama possum and joey stayed at the wildlife hospital for further testing as well as the maggot eye opossum we treated last night. The little squirrel did have a broken tibula so Dr. Sarah bandaged her up. We took two more orphan squirrels from South Beloit as well as two tiny opossums from one of our big supporters. This male brushtail possum had been stuck in a narrow gap between two buildings for at least two days, unable to climb out and in desperate need of help. With patience and care, our team managed to carefully pin him against the wall and lift him free. After a full veterinary check, he was found to be healthy and ready for release.
